The Momentum 4 takes the battery row by a wide margin: 60 hours with ANC on, double the 30 hours of the Sony and far ahead of the Bose’s 24. It also has the largest published driver here at 42 mm and supports aptX and aptX Adaptive alongside SBC and AAC. The trade-off is the ranked weight row: at 293 g it is the heaviest of the three.

Sony WH-1000XM5
The XM5 is the best balance of the two ranked specs: 30 hours of battery and 250 g of weight, so it beats the Bose on both and the Sennheiser on weight. It supports LDAC, giving it a hi-res Bluetooth codec the Bose does not list. It is the pick when you want the numbers to line up rather than to win any single row.

Bose’s flagship is the most expensive of the three at a $429 launch price.
