Methodology

Where specs come from

Each product's specifications are taken from the manufacturer's own specification sheet or product page. Where a manufacturer does not publish a value, the cell reads "Not published". We never fill gaps with estimates or third-party teardowns.

How a spec wins

Each category has a fixed list of specs. Some are ranked: more battery hours is better, fewer grams is better. Others, such as driver size or supported codecs, are listed for reference and never highlighted. In a comparison table a ranked cell is highlighted when it beats every other product in that row. Ties are all highlighted. A product with an unpublished value neither wins nor loses that row.

Prices

Retailer prices are refreshed nightly from affiliate feeds. The launch price is shown separately and is never treated as a current offer. Price history charts show only retailer observations.

Editorial verdicts

Comparison pages are generated for every pair of products in a category. Only pages with a written verdict from an editor are submitted to search engines; the rest exist for readers who navigate to them directly.

Ratings

We do not collect user ratings and do not publish aggregate scores.
